The recently concluded meeting of the Friends of Ilkeston Market Place on February 24th 2024, heled at the Cantelupe Centre (Market Place), was not only successful, but also witnessed an impressive turnout.

In a collective and unanimous decision, the attendees resolved to rebrand the group, giving it a more encompassing idendity as the Friends of Ilkeston Town Centre (FITC). This strategic name change underlines the organisation’s committment to a more comprehensive and inclusive approach, docusing on the overall development of the town centre.

A significant development arising from the meeting is the imminent launch of FITC’s dedicated website. The online platform will serve as a hub for like-minded individuals interested in becoming members of the Friends. Through the website, prosepective members can complete a straightforward membership form. The simplicity of this process is aimed at encouraging widespread membership participation. The invitation is extended to both businesses and individuals to join the Friends of Ilkeston Town Centre, emphasising the crucial role each member plays in shaping and nurturing our community.
